The mighty Blue Marlin is one of the most thrilling and challenging fish to catch. Many daring anglers have braved the oceans in hopes of conquering this amazing fish. Experts all around agree that to catch Blue Marlin, one should be adequately equipped with the best fishing tackle and angling knowhow. Still, the question remains: should you use plastic lures or live bait? A few people alternate between the two choices, seasoned skipper and competitive angler Ronnie Fields being one of them. Fields was practically a bait user growing up, having won second place at a local tournament in his hometown using “home-grown” techniques. He did, however, pull quite a hat trick in the same tournament for two consecutive years and placed second in the Atlantic Blue Marlin category in 2009 using lures.
